I remember it to this day. Back in the hot July summer of 2012, I was reading my first spiritual book by Trudy Griswold called Angelspeake: How to Talk to Your Angels. I was so excited and inspired by the book that I started practicing the advice it gave about connecting and communicating with my guardian angels and guides.
I wasn’t expecting anything to happen spontaneously, but I thought to myself, “It’s worth a try, and at least I can say I gave it a go.”
I worked long hours then, and I still do to this day, as I am very dedicated to my job, which I love, as a Data Analyst at a horseradish plant. The only time it seemed I had to myself was while I was in the shower or before I went to bed. At first, I felt like I was talking to the wall, but I began by protecting myself and asking that only the highest and greatest guides of divine love and light, with equal or higher vibrations and frequencies, come through to connect and communicate with me in any way possible. I also asked for a sign of what I needed to know from the universe, which I now realize was too broad of a request and that I should have been more specific.
I tried this spiritual practice a few times, set intentions, wrote them down, journaled anything I received, and repeated the process day after day. I also meditated for about two to three weeks.
Then, one day while I was in the shower, I was meditating with the shower water hitting my face near my third eye. After about five minutes, I started to see vividly colored visions of a young man with bright, curly, orangish hair and wide, bright blue eyes. That was all I could see, and I couldn’t make sense of it.
This happened again while I was in the shower, three nights in a row.
I asked my guides what this was all about, and in my visions I saw the Batman symbol. I remember thinking to myself, “I have no idea what my guides are trying to communicate to me.”
The very next day, I was shocked to see the news on July 20, 2012, regarding the mass shooting in Aurora, Colorado, during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises. They identified James Holmes as the mass shooter, and when I saw his face, with his bright, curly, orangish hair and wide-eyed expression, it looked exactly like what I had seen in my visions for three nights in a row.
I knew then that I was on to something and that I was seeing into the future, like a psychic, which was something I had wanted to accomplish.
I decided I should learn more and found a few online classes about intuition. I learned that a common characteristic of receiving what I call a “hit” is that the vision, sign, or message may occur three times in a row.
I tried my spiritual practice again and received a few more small “hits.” This time, I asked more specific questions, such as, “What is it that I need to know about work?” In my visions, for three nights in a row, I saw a woman or man with a bloody face, but I couldn’t make out who it was. I asked my guides what this was all about, and I heard the word “Detroit.”
Later, at work, I learned that a coworker had been mugged and hit over the head with a gun on Detroit Street, which was the street she walked on after getting off the bus to go to work.
Another really big “hit” happened when I decided to ask the broader question again: “What is it that I need to know from the universe?” Once again, I received three “hits” in a row while in the shower. This time, I saw visions of two young men close up. Both had dark hair and dark eyes and appeared to be foreigners. One had a long, skinny face and nose, while the other had similar features but a rounder face. They looked as though they were related.
I asked my guides what I was seeing, and I heard a loud popping noise. I also saw a crowd of people in the street running and screaming. It looked terrifying.
After those three “hits” in a row, I saw the news about the Boston bombing. At first, they were identifying only one person as the culprit, but I knew there were two.
Over time, I have perfected this spiritual technique as best as I can. It has taken a lot of dedication, relaxation, daily intentions, meditation, healthy eating, detoxing, fasting, clearing my chakras and energy body, and taking many online spiritual classes.
I have learned that everyone has psychic or intuitive ability. For some people, it comes instantly. Someone may ask them a question, and they know the answer right away. For me, however, I have to practice daily. I don’t always receive my answer or get a “hit” right away, so it requires patience and the ability to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
My guides and spirit usually show me bits and pieces, and I have to keep asking more questions. My strongest ability is clairvoyance, where I see visions that look like a movie playing out. Sometimes I also experience clear hearing, or clairaudience, although for me it is more like having a gut feeling while seeing a word in my mind.
Anyone can practice this and have success through dedication. Joining a spiritual practice circle online, which I have done in the past, can also be very helpful.
My spiritual journey never ends. I actively seek answers without the help of another psychic, and that is such a great feeling. It is a magical accomplishment that anyone can achieve through dedication, believing in yourself, having no fear, and holding unconditional love for yourself.
