Exploring the connection between nature, ancient traditions, community, and the human spirit.

High in the mountains surrounding Antigua, Guatemala, a different kind of spiritual journey awaits. Surrounded by lush tropical forests, towering volcanoes, and a landscape rich in cultural history, Earth Spirit Rising is a seven-day retreat designed to explore the relationship between personal well-being, community, and the natural world.
Taking place January 9–15, 2027, the retreat brings together a variety of contemplative and Earth-centred practices, including yoga, meditation, breathwork, ecstatic dance, sound healing, and ceremonial drumming. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience a traditional Maya fire ceremony facilitated by a local spiritual practitioner.
Guatemala offers a particularly meaningful setting for such an experience. Its volcanic landscapes and enduring Maya cultural traditions provide a backdrop for reflecting on humanity's relationship with the Earth, the sacred, and the communities that sustain us.
The retreat will be hosted at Earth Lodge, a mountain sanctuary overlooking the Antigua region. With its rustic cabins, treehouses, geodomes, and panoramic views of the surrounding volcanoes, the property offers an opportunity to step away from daily routines and reconnect with a quieter rhythm of life.
Beyond its scheduled activities, Earth Spirit Rising emphasizes something increasingly valued in contemporary spiritual communities: the importance of genuine human connection. Shared meals, fireside conversations, cultural exploration, and moments of quiet reflection are intended to encourage participants to connect not only with themselves but also with one another.
At its heart, the retreat reflects a simple idea: spiritual growth does not always require elaborate teachings or profound revelations. Sometimes, meaningful discoveries emerge through movement, stillness, laughter, time spent in nature, and the experience of belonging.
Earth Spirit Rising offers an opportunity to explore these possibilities within one of Central America's most beautiful natural settings.
For those interested in learning more about this unique experience, the organizers invite prospective participants to schedule a personal conversation with Phoenix to explore whether the retreat aligns with their interests and spiritual journey.
Taking place January 9–15, 2027, the retreat welcomes those seeking a meaningful blend of cultural discovery, spiritual exploration, and connection with nature.
